Hi, I'm Michael Hilgers. I'm a furniture designer from Berlin, Germany.

My pragmatic design® methodology is not about the fashionable styling of a generic piece of furniture.
Instead, it allows the development, or even the "invention" of a simple new idea that provides a useful, meaningful solution.

This objective analysis of the (spatial) situation, the available resources and the aesthetic and functional needs of the users enables an unconventional design process and leads to imaginative, surprisingly simple solutions.

Difficult, limited framework conditions are not seen as a problem but as an important source of inspiration.

The result is always as compact as possible with maximum functionality and therefore saves resources; a timeless, minimalist design made from high-quality local materials ensures long-term use.
