I've ALWAYS loved working with my hands. I play the piano and flute; garden, bake bread, crochet/knit and cross-stitch. I am brand new to working with clay. I am all in when it has to do with functionality AND asceticism. I am an early childhood education University Professor who has worked with young children and college students exploring the Italian's Reggio Emilia Approach. This approach to teaching and learning is all about exploration & discovery. The process of working with different materials is documented as how a child/person learns. The outcome is the outward sign of an inward discovery, expression and interpretation of understanding. I'm enrolled in pottery classes locally and was so thrilled to find Lilly Maetzig. She is just as lovely and natural as her clay work and her delivery of her teaching material is clear as well as soothing. I am very excited to see where this adventure with clay takes me!
