Obeida Takriti

Obeida Takriti is a social entrepreneur and an innovation coach. He currently co-runs Beit el Nessim, a refurbished old house in Tripoli Mina, where they also offer yoga sessions in addition to Bed & Breakfast. His passion to healthy food has led him in 2020 to launch ZAD, a kitchen lab, where they constantly work on coming up with local, healthy, unique products. Since his return to Lebanon in 2014, Obeida is working as a coach and a consultant with various organizations, most recently Technopolis, Tripoli Entrepreneurs Club, Injaz, Shift Social Incubation Center, UNICEF, Oxfam, and Shadda Media Lab. During these trainings, he has met hundreds of young individuals in North Lebanon, and he worked with them on developing their own ideas, initiatives, and projects by teaching them methodologies like design thinking and business model navigator.
Academically, Obeida have earned a master’s degree in Public Policy and International Affairs from the American University in Beirut, and his master thesis is an analysis of the politics in Tripoli and its dynamics. He has also participated in the Stanford Summer School in Political Psychology in 2018. Besides, Obeida has a multidisciplinary background as he has 2 bachelors; one in Psychology from the Lebanese University and one in Communication & Information Studies from the American University in Dubai, where he has also got a certificate in Middle Eastern Studies.
Previously, Obeida was also leading Shadda Media Lab that is bringing media and production professionals together facilitating thus the development of creative content. Obeida was the community manager at Alkindy, a social innovation accelerator that empowers changemakers to induce positive change to their community in a systematic and systemic way. He used to work as a junior business architect at Intelligile, a pioneer in providing the latest excellence methods and tools. As a junior business architect, his main duty was to work hand-on-hand with clients, private and public sector organizations, to provide them with the needed methods to improve their operation.
In addition, Obeida is active in promoting psychological and spiritual well-being through weekly meditation sessions. Obeida believes that he is mainly a flaneur in Tripoli, where he loves interacting with the city and its people, and he hopes that Tripoli would become the best city on the Mediterranean after a decade.
