“WHEN WE CAN NO LONGER CHANGE OUR CIRCUMSTANCES,
WE ARE CHALLANGED TO CHANGE OURSELVES.”
- Simone George
...to do so, the best way for me is to use what is in my nature. Creativity and craft have been a big part of my life since childhood. I was born in the East of Germany, in a beautiful part called “Oberlausitz/ Łužica” where the mother tongue is Sorbian.
After successfully finishing my apprenticeship in 2014 in Visual Merchandising in Dresden my journey brought me to the North of Germany. My time in Hamburg gave me a lot of experience in fashion design and shop window decoration. By chance the next Job offer would bring me back to the East of Germany. As an Area Visual Merchandiser I worked from Berlin with an awesome visual team for the fashion house GANT. In this position, travelling became a large part of my life. Shops everywhere in Germany including cities like Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Munich and many more were now standing on our agenda. I spent another four years working for GANT. My profession taught me a lot about the world of design and gave me an eye for what the consumer wants and how a designer can efficiently produce and communicate this.
I felt I wanted to go further down this route, and explore the product and 3D-design world, which is why I
decided to begin studying Product Design at Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin. I am not only interested in the end product, I find the theoretical as well as physical side of 3D-Design very important. I want to be able to see the process from a small idea as a squiggly sketch on a piece of paper, right through to the final, squeaky perfect product. In summer 2020 I also completed the Erasmus study abroad program at University of the Arts in
London Camberwell.
