Hello! I’m an Earth-loving tree-hugging pseudo-hippie, 51yo single mum of an amazing 10yo daughter, a boisterous lurcher pup, and two crazy rescue Pods.
Since childhood, I have always had creative urges and artistic leanings, sadly, somewhat overlooked by guardians and educators in my formative years in favour of science and academia. After decades, I now find myself weary of working in a ‘normal’ job and am ready to let my creative side burst out and embrace a new and meaningful direction.
Over the years, I have tried my hand at a variety of tactile material arts: pottery, tie-dying, sewing, corsetry, knitting, crochet, and weaving. We are fortunate to live in a quirky and cosy woodland cottage on a National Trust estate where I am treated daily a varied smorgasbord of colour, texture and shape within the natural environment surrounding my home. I love to experiment with juxtaposing colour and tones. Purple, green and blue are my favourite colours but I like to add bright pops of lime, fuscia, turquoise for contrast.
I am excited by pattern and mathematics. Some of my favourite designers include Orla Kiely, Emma Bridgewater and Cath Kidston, and I am also inspired by shapes, sequences and patterns of Scandinavian, middle- and far-eastern origin, in their modern and traditional manifestations.
