Nadezhda Petrova

Hello there!

My name is Nadezhda. I'm a graphic designer by education but I work as an illustrator and doll maker. I have a small studio and this is the place where I give life to my ideas.

The illustration is my way to express myself and my inner world. I like feeling the paper under my fingers. That's why I'm into traditional drawing as much as into digital illustration. I find them both strongly connected. Preferred materials I use in my work are colour pencils, watercolours, alcohol markers, pens and inks. I really like to experiment when I draw because the result is always unpredictable and surprising at the same time.

Another thing that brings me joy is dollmaking. I create art dolls from scratch. I love dollmaking because it showed me a whole new world. I think this world brought my creativity to a higher level because it combines many different areas like creating a character concept, technical drawing, sculpting, fashion design, costume sewing and hairdressing, accessories and shoe design.
