Nikki Armstrong

I studied Art and specialised in ceramics and 3D crafts at art college ( York tech and London St Martins ) 1993 - 97. I went on to work on props and model making for the animation industry, and later as a make up and hair artist. I am also a qualified veterinary nurse and continue to work part time in that field, and work as a hairdresser also, which is my creative outlet, but I always doodle and illustrate and Im influenced by simple and quirky, odd styles such as Paul Klee, Edward Gorey, Miro, Mark Ryden, Bosch, Japanese art styles old botanical and natural history illustration and prints, and more contemorary pop culture styles in cartoons such as Anime, Adventure time and Snoopy! Animals and birds ALWAYS feature in my work - i hate drawing people!
