Melanie Hermiston-Chorney

I am a first grade teacher in small town Saskatchewan, Canada. I spent 12 years teaching, living and starting my family in New Zealand. While being a stay at home mom to my young children, I had to opportunity to work in a local art gallery filled with a vast variety of works by local and national NZ artists. I was asked to create a painting for a combined artist exhibition and then went on to have my first successful solo showing. I have always been interested in art especially painting and print making. I love bright colours, pattern and simple shapes. I am interested in learning about surface pattern art.
