Thank you very much for this Beautiful opprtunity. My name is Mariam. I was born and raised in Germany but always feel the arab heritage very dominant inside of me. My religion is the anchor of my life. And with the allowance of Allah I was given the chance to study His religion in an academic institution from a blessed chain of scholars. The more I study, the more my soul seeks perfection (ihsan) in everything I do. One of my hobbies is art and writing, and here exactly my inner self is yearning for the skills that help me express myself in Ihsan. The utmost perfection I have found in Arabic calligraphy and illumination. I started being affected by phrases of the great scholars, feeling the urge to put them into a painting. But as you can see, I am in need of these teachings. My Shaykh is a Maliki scholar and this school is very much influenced by Andalusian culture. That’s why I chose to search for a teacher in maghrebi calligraphy. And here I am, as a student, hoping to begin my journey with your teachings.
