Maria Thivaiou

Hallo, my name is Maria and I live in Berlin for the last 3 and a bit years. In my free time that I wish to have more, I like to explore new places surely not ordinary because for me it can be a new discovery. I mostly feel connected with the nature in which I can breath and forget the madness living in a city. I like to read stories of real people and their achievements, i.e. I felt huge respect reading the life of Katia Krafft how extraordinary she was to go to places that no-one could. As well the life of the Mirabal sisters - the 3 Mariposas and how strong they were until the end. I like trying out culinary recipes from around the world - I truly love making soups and cakes, and experiment with creating art out of anything. I can be astonished by the work of Frida Kalho and Johannes Vermeer, as well of the engineering skills of Da Vinci but I can say that even street artists making graffiti can make me many times to applause their work. I lived for 10 years in the UK and I loved visiting places that had art from my favourite sculptor Antony Gormley (Angel of the North is my top, but his work of Silence and Another Place also can provoke feelings of serenity).
Apart of having a decree in physics and engineering and working in industry sector, I am mother of two sweet but amazed strong girls who everyday give me the power to keep on.
