As a child growing up in Kansas surrounded by lightning bugs, fishing, and farmland, I loved to draw and ride my bike. My father loved to draw and he did watercolor paintings when he was younger and was quite good. In school, we had exposure to art from elementary school thru junior high school and I took an art class my senior year in high school. I joined the military and then worked for government service. After relocating to Montana, I have become more interested in art and particularly watercolor. I love the vibrancy of watercolor, it is fun and reminds me of my childhood something simple, not complicated but can look complicated. If that makes sense. In 2019 I started watercolor painting with Let's Make Art by Sarah Cray and the watercolor bug hit me.

I love birds, I have 10 chickens and I love Jean Haines chicken paintings. I paint for myself and my family not professionally. I wanted to have my own paintings hanging in my home or if my children wanted paintings. I love painting Christmas, Birthday cards etc. I hope to improve my skills and refine my techniques with this class.
