My mother used to read my sister and me stories before bedtime. We both loved it so much! While listening, we lay on the floor on our bellies, drawing and painting pictures.
In school, only the ability to draw things realistic was acknowledged, everything else was considered inadequate. Slowly, I lost my enthusiasm for drawing and came to the conclusion that I wasn't talented at all.
But whenever I walk by a stationery shop or a bookshop, I cannot resist going in and marvelling at all the crayons, colour pencils, aquarelle paintboxes, sketchbooks and magically illustrated children's books! So, I've decided to follow my inner guiding light and recapture my joy of drawing and painting. <3
