As an ex-pat living in Spain, I have a large collection of children's books which I bought for my children. Secretly, I bought them for myself too because reading has always been one of the activities that has brought me joy.
As a Language and Literature teacher, I feel the need to be more creative myself in order to understand better how to inspire my students to create content themselves. I think understanding how language transmits messages is important and can help us to understand what it means to be human and what it means to be ourselves. However, understanding ourselves as human creatures and as individuals requires reflecting on what gives our lives meaning and then finding ways to creatively express this meaning to others. I've come to suspect that reading and analysing what, how and why others create is not enough to gain a deeper understanding the power of language and literature. Now, I will try to find out to what extent that suspicion is true.
Given that I have no experience nor portfolio, I have nothing to upload here....yet. I will add an image when I actually produce something. I've bought all of the materials and am ready to start.
