I live in Greece and create my artwork inspired by my cultural and natural surroundings.
Bold colours and whimsical design elements feature a lot in my art where my aim is to allow my muse to flow intuitively and without hindrance, questioning or critique by my inner self. A continuous battle as the monster of perfectionism often raises its ugly head!
I’ve always been artistically inclined and my experience spans the fields of fashion, interior design, website design, graphics and logos.
As an interior designer I initially explored applying my designs to hand-knotted rugs, silk scarves and handcrafted cement tiles but as I have gotten more involved with the arts I have been exploring various mixed media techniques, more specifically and characteristically of me is that of creating relief art on wood using the pyrograph, a technique that creates a unique “please touch me” result. I also enjoy exploring other media, such as gouache and oils to develop and enrich my skills and range of work.
In describing myself I could not omit to mention my love of photography and which has now become a wonderful tool that helps me observe our colourful world in greater detail and which I use to reference ideas and subjects for my art.
