Julia Collver

I am a painter and fine craft artist fascinated with symbolism and exploring harmony between connection and imagination. As "a jack of most crafts", I have always been interested in designing objects of use and beauty in oil paint, watercolor, ceramics, metal, paper, wood and mixed media. My inspiration mostly comes from observing nature, human impact on the world, and an internal motivation to create. I was born in Wyoming and raised in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, which is a small town in the mix of rural landscapes of the northern boarder of PA. Studying the nature of color pallets, light, various species of plants and animals, and the complex relationship of humanity and nature are just a few contextual devices I commonly use to inform my work.
