Jules Pilgrim

I am an exhibiting artist- I've always seemed to include textiles in my artworks- even when I'm working in completely unrelated media. My art is mainly 3D and uses a lot of found objects. I live near a lot of old goldfields that were in their heyday about 170 years ago. There is all manner of stuff lying around on the old diggings that I collect to use in my artworks.
I've never been much good at hand embroidery, although I do a LOT of free machine embroidery, but I found the embroidery on paper course with Gemena Romero and discovered that I could do hand embroidery after all. Now I'm moving into more complex hand embroidery and other fibre classes via Domestika.
All this happened when I was locked down during covid19, so at least something good has come out of isolation!
