Jen Chilstrom

My art intersects with the natural world, is a healing practice, and a way to bring community together. In addition to my studio practice, I am a community arts practitioner who teaches in schools, art centers, and non-traditional settings. My classes ignite the creativity in learners of all ages. Most recently, I worked as the fiber arts instructor for the Minnesota State Arts Board funded Creative Connections for Seniors Program with the East Side Arts Council. For several years I directed a nonprofit gender specific arts diversion program, advocating for young women involved in the juvenile justice system. I co-founded and curated a co-working gallery and retail space that, for five years, exhibited and advocated for the Minnesota Maker community.
