Hello! My name is Jalyssa (like "juh-lee-suh") and I live in Los Angeles. I grew up in Ohio and am the daughter of Brazilian and Puerto Rican parents.
If you asked me as a kid what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have told you one career per finger: an artist, actor, animator, athlete, and astronaut. (Super cool points for the fact that they all started with the same letter.)
As you can imagine, it was difficult for me to choose one path because I wanted to walk them all. How can a person choose only one job? I started playing around with the idea of some form of storytelling and began as an assistant in the entertainment world.
A couple of years later, I fell into Creative Project Management...and fell in love. It was my job to work with writers, producers, graphic designers, editors, directors, and marketers on telling stories through video, images, and social. It was the perfect niche for my overactive artistic and logistical brain, allowing me to touch all parts of the creative process.
I am a Creative Project Manager. Every day is a new adventure and a new puzzle to solve. My goal is to share this passion with you, and help you figure out if this is the career path for you. You'll also learn how to bolster an environment where creatives can thrive, resulting in beautiful products that will impact audiences all over the world.
