Jacquie Withers

Hi, My name is Jacquie. I live in South Africa, on a farm. I am self-employed and work as an editor (academic, finance) and want to expand my world and grow my illustrating and creative skills. I am self-taught ie have no formal training and don't really know much about art techniques. I get quite busy at work and am quite disorganized except in my work - so when I draw it's often in bed at night and I end up with just a blue or black ballpoint pen to hand! I am hoping that doing the course will inspire me to take my creative work more seriously and develop skills that will make it possible to complete projects and keep learning and improving. I have lots of half-written stories and want to be structured enough and committed enough to complete them. I love character; when I write stories they are character driven. I enjoy connecting with people through being creative and I love amusing and entertaining people. Recently I realized I want my stories to have more of a visual element and to be less hampered by language-only. #aboutmeDomestika
