Guillem Ruiz

I was born in Barcelona, year 1984, but that date is indifferent to my story.
It was in 1992, when the Olympic Games were going to take place in my hometown. This made the difference, the city where I belong was becoming a world capital city. This supposed a great and huge change to our mores. Suddenly, Barcelona became one of the reference cities of modern art, architecture and design worldwide.

I always had a very close relation to street culture, its behavior, its music and it's art. So it didn't take me a long time to get involved in street art.
My curiosity and hunger of answers took me to ask what was next, and I saw a big opportunity on Graphic Design, focusing on becoming a professional on that field.
After a few years at High school of Design and Art, I had my first job as designer in a print company, where I could understand and realize how important a good workflow and logical processes are in a production chain. I worked many years on graphic arts and production and had the chance to work on projects for companies like Intel, Alcatel and Vodafone.
In the meanwhile, I was also involved in sport events production so I could apply all the know how based on my experience before. It worked an I really enjoyed that experience but I wanted more.
Finally, after going through a very intense two years with lots of changes in my life, I decided to start working on my own as freelance designer and many works and collaborations came through.
Many years ago, with everything aligned, I had the chance to become part of a family company dedicated to music entertainment since 1942 where I worked as the Head of Design and Art Director. Currently, I work as freelance for agencies, studios, companies and any business that requires me as the Creative Director, Art Director, Graphic Designer or Advisor.

I can actually say that my career has been and will be a never ending process of learning. I would love to keep doing this forever and I hope you'll be part of this story also.
