I'm was born in Poland in 1985. I'm the founder of Fresh From Poland - an independent platform for contemporary Polish photography and director of Fresh From Poland Foundation. I work as a curator, picture editor, art events coordinator, and writer. So far I have curated several group exhibitions in Poland, England, the Netherlands, and India and cooperated with festivals in Poland, Tbilisi, and Istanbul. I'm a part of a small team behind the PAPERLUST Photobook Fest in Kraków. Former text editor for FOTO Monthly Magazine (Poland) and Prism Magazine (Dublin), currently cooperate with Contemporary Lynx (London). I'm lively interested in new trends in contemporary photography. Lives and works between Poland, England, and Iceland.
As a curator, I'm passionate about putting images into a new or unexpected context in order to create unique visual stories, focusing more on the final outcome rather than on the single photographs and their authorship, as also on researching the collective visual consciousness and the ways humans imagine and depict memories, abstract concepts or modern myths. I love digging through archives and looking at vernacular photography. While working with single artists, I'm into finding new ways to tell the story, not avoiding unexpected arrangements or props.
Aside curatorial path, I'm deeply fascinated by producing everyday things from zero, from food ( cheese, sourdough bread, vinegar, ginger beer) to scrap wood furniture, books, and now ceramic tiles for my and my boyfriend's kitchen floor :-)
