Never wanted to be anything else BUT an Artist and attended Art College as soon as I could escape school at 15.. unfortunately, due to my Mother nearly being killed and her long recovery, I had to get a job as an illustrator until, I started teaching Ballet.. this became my dull time career until I was burnt out and had a breakdown.. I then escaped into the bush to recoup and started painting again.. Wildlife became a passion due, in part to my illustrative work but I learnt heaps about painting and when I emerged back into society I suddenly fell in love with portraiture..
I have painted several prominent people here.
I've now turned another corner an have been using a more expressive technique.. I long to throw my need for control away and let fly.. I guess, because I enjoy sculpture as well, I have always had this urge to sculpt the figure out of the canvas with paint.. I love working large
