I started painting lessons 1,5 year ago - out of the blue, all of a sudden, following mere intuition ... - at the age of 56. I did not hold a pencil nor brush since primary school. I always have been very interested in art (history) and travel around Belgium and Europe to visit musea and expositions. My 'taste' is rather ecclectic. My favourite painters/paintings share the use of color. I am not convinced of the opposition "abstract vs. figurative".
Now that I paint myself, I experience the joy ànd the struggle: learning to look, to transform 3D into 2D, choosing the colours, the composition ...
I already enjoyed the course of Alexandre Reider on landscapes. With the course of Camilla O'Gorman, I want to have some support in discovering the art of portraiture that seems the most challenging genre to me.
