Gabriele Schilcher

My life in the middle of nature is rooted and grounds me, is my inspiration and gives me strength. The changing of the seasons, watching and listening, sorrows and joys. My longing for lightness, freedom and ONE-BEING.
My art is an expression of all my passions, everything comes together in it: my feelings, my values, my great love for nature, for natural materials, for exciting surfaces and structures, being mindful and protecting. Words often flow into my work, texts are created for images or images for texts.
While I used to paint on canvas and paper using various techniques, today I paint and design with paint, fabric, textile fibers, folds and threads, with the sewing machine, with words, with vegetable paint, found objects - with everything I can find. Artistic work was and is my "valve", my connection from "inside" to "outside", the language of my soul. It allows me to play, experiment, pause and live my dreams.
This course attracted me because it harmonizes with my way of working and also shows so much lightness and courage in the lines. I am also looking forward to new inspirations in dealing with organic materials.
