Molly Heineman

Hi, my name is Molly. I'm 34 years old. I'm the cross stitch & blackwork digital pattern designer at Drooling Moose Designs. My designs are inspired by my life as a wife, mother to 3 children, and an off-grid homesteader in the deep north woods of Maine. Most of my designs feature a unique blend of cross-stitch and blackwork, two forms of needlework that I enjoy. One day, about 2 years ago I wondered why I never saw the two used together on the same piece. After searching for such patterns and coming up empty, I decided I would make my own, and that’s what started Drooling Moose Designs. I enjoy stitching & coming up with new designs as I sit on my porch with my large brook flow by me, surrounded by trees & nature. It's incredibly peaceful & so good for my soul.
At the beginning of this year, I made myself a goal.. With my skills as a cross stitch & blackwork designer, I wanted push myself to learn how to 'paint with thread' and excel at it. I'm excited to see how much I can add that knowledge to embroidery thread painting.
