Primarily a traditional sculptor, but adventuring into more media and materials. Previously Makeup special effects artist for Film and Broadway Tours and now living in the woods in WI and retooling my skills to work as an artist and illustrator. I still design and build for Theater, specializing in character and puppet design. I doubt there will ever be a time when I am not drawn to "Trod the Boards" backstage and front.
My favorite subject matter is a fantastic take on animals and nature. I grew up obsessed with animals and magic and most especially European Mythology, especially Nordic, Slavic, and Irish Folklore.
I share my studio with 2 lovely spaniels who help chase away any bits of gloom that might creep in. Most often there is some old country song playing in the background mixed with eclectic 80's. I live a bit of a charmed life and am always happy to share a cup of coffee and a sunny corner of the screen porch with a fellow creative.
A few of my inspirations are Old Monster Movies, classic Theater of all kinds, authors and illustrators including: Terry Pratchett, Maurice Sendak, Jules Verne, Jim Henson, Brian and Wendy Froud, Neil Gaimon, Frank Frazetta, Josh Kirby, and Shel Silverstein.
Most recently I completed work on a limited edition release of the character GREEBO from Pratchett's Discworld series based on the paintings of Josh Kirby.
