Hello,
I'm Dee, I'm a Métis woman from Canada living in the United States with my husband. I have always been an artist since I was a small child. I have a degree in graphic design however, while attending college I fell into the performing arts and ended up pursuing entertainment instead. I had great success in this field, I traveled the world performing and producing shows. I excelled in burlesque and circus. Being on stage was fresh and exciting and seething I never thought I could do because a mean teacher in grade school put me down. When I found performance and excelled in it winning awards and being one of the top performers in my field I was creatively full. I would design my own costumes and learned photography and would shoot my own promotional images / portfolio and design my own flyers for my productions. I eventually got into pinup photography and shot many wonderful models and performers. During this phase in my life I put my visual art aside. Since the pandemic I have stopped performing because I was unable to, I was not creating anything and felt empty, not having a creative outlet put me into depression. I eventually pulled myself out of this depression (still am) by finding my way back to visual art. I found myself interested in painting again, but this time with watercolor, which is a new medium for me. Water has always been healing for me (maybe it's because Im a water sign lol) I find there is so much to learn about watercolor and watching the colors mix on the paper and giving up control. Painting makes me happy and I am so thrilled to be back creating and learning something new.
