Loana is a professor at ESDI and is part of the research group Aru, as well as collaborating with different groups focused on new materials and technologies applied to textiles. What is a chromatic circle and why is it key in design?. The chromatic circle is a visual tool that organizes colors according to their relationship to each other. It is traditionally used to understand: Harmonic combinations, such as analogous colors. Contrasts, such as complementary colors. Monochromatic ranges, variations of the same hue. In design and art, the chromatic circle helps to make safer aesthetic decisions, avoiding arbitrary combinations and allowing to convey specific sensations: calm, energy, balance or intensity.
