The design of letters can go beyond the textual being mixed with illustration and digital techniques, and thus achieving a communicative purpose through purely visual images. This is the specialty of the designer, illustrator and lyricist Simón Londoño, who with his lyrics achieves powerful compositions of great visual richness that have led him to work with clients such as Renault, Asus or Les Fils Pernot, among others.
In this course, Simón will teach you to give identity to your brand from letters with character: from the conceptualization of this, to the final presentation of your piece for customers.

You will make a sketch with guides and angle, and define what the parameters of your letters are. You will start to vectorize your lettering working on concepts such as typographic modulation that will allow you to generate visual games, kerning , the coherence of the strokes, the balance of full and empty, the positive and negative, and some printing tests to evaluate its usefulness as a logo.
You will create a monogram that will complete your visual identity; you will harmonically join two or more letters of your piece seeing some tricks that Simon will show you. You will experience defragmenting your pieces into modules so that they speak in a slightly more abstract language. Finally, you will take your identity to a product or piece printed by default. You will apply your pieces to 3 different [i]mockups to generate more impact and that they can be presented in the best way.

From your lettering you will create a logo that will represent the visual identity of your brand. From this, you will generate a whole graphic system.
Both advanced graphic designers interested in strengthening their typographic knowledge from lettering , as well as beginners interested in entering the world of lettering and creating brands absolutely from scratch.
You will need pencil, paper and a computer with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and have basic knowledge of these.

You’ll learn how to conceptualize, sketch, digitize, and vectorize lettering and monograms, create custom typographic logos, and present cohesive visual identities using both manual and digital techniques.
This is an intermediate-level course, recommended for those who already have basic knowledge of graphic design, typography, or illustration and want to deepen their skills in digital lettering and monogram creation.
You’ll need a computer with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop installed, paper and pencil for sketching, and optionally a graphics tablet. Basic Illustrator skills are helpful.
The course covers visual identity conceptualization, mood boards, lettering sketching and digitizing, monogram creation and vectorization, typographic composition, branding applications, and client project presentations.
You’ll be able to create unique typographic logos, develop consistent graphic systems, and present professional visual identity proposals for clients or your own projects.
It’s not mandatory, but having basic hand-sketching skills is recommended since part of the creative process involves drawing letters and monograms before digitizing them.
The course explains that typography is the design of reproducible typefaces, calligraphy is artistic handwriting, and lettering is the custom drawing of letters for unique graphic pieces.
