Jheison Huerta
A course by Jheison Huerta
Jheison Huerta is a photographer from Huaraz, Peru, in the heart of the Peruvian Andes. It's perhaps for this reason that landscape photography was already part of his DNA. For more than eight years he has been shooting the night sky of the Andes and his photos have earned him the prestigious APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day) award from NASA, in addition to being featured in media outlets such as the BBC, National Geographic, and more.
With the Astrofoto Andes group, he runs workshops and conferences in countries such as Colombia, Bolivia, Italy, and his native Peru.
The aim of Jheison's work is to make it feel like space is closer than we think, incorporating features of the Milky Way with other earthly elements and people, like in his mesmerizing photos of the Salar de Uyuni, in Bolivia.
