Punch Needle XL Embroidery

Known as the punch needle, this embroidery technique is famous for the colorful and textured pieces it produces. "It's as if the thread jumped from the fabric, asking you to touch it...inevitably making you smile", says graphic designer and embroidering specialist Caro Bello, who will be guiding you on this journey.

In this course, you'll learn step by step how to master the punch needle and the different stitch possibilities, to make an exclusive piece. Take the leap and decorate your home with your own pieces.

You'll begin by getting to know Caro Bello and learn about her professional career, as well as get an introduction to the world of the punch needle. You'll see some of her work, inspirations and main artistic influences in the areas of ​​embroidery and design. Next, you'll learn more about the punch needle technique in detail, and how it differs from traditional embroidery.

In the second unit, you'll see the materials needed to start working such as the types of needles, threads and fabrics. Then, you'll learn to combine them correctly. Caro will teach you how to make your first stitches with the punch needle and introduce you to the "4 golden rules" so that you avoid classic mistakes.

Then, you'll go to the practical portion where you'll learn to master the punch needle. You'll see how to transfer your own design to the canvas and how to put it all together, as well as the different types of stitches that can be done with this technique (flat and embossed) and which ones to use. Finally, you'll see how to fix the stitches and how to assemble a cushion cover.

In the last unit, Caro will teach you to take care and clean your garment so that your embroidery has a long life. You'll learn other applications of this technique in different products and materials, so you can experiment in future projects.

You'll embroider a 40x40 cm cushion, applying the stitches learned during the course using the punch needle technique in XL format.

No previous knowledge required as you'll learn to master this technique from scratch. If you already have some kind of experience, this course will help you to learn some new tricks and tips that will be useful to you.

As for the materials, you'll need jute fabric, an embroidery frame, a punch needle for thick wool, semi-thick wool (4/7), scissors, marker, adhesive tape, a brush and glue.
