Learn to control the basic parameters of your reflex camera
With the help of Jesús G. Pastor -journalist and photographer, he has worked for clients such as Nikon or Google and international media such as The Sunday Times, Cosmopolitan or Travel Africa Magazine among others- you will learn to use the main parameters of a digital camera in manual mode .
Thanks to the examples and advice of Jesus, you will gain in ease when handling the camera photographing in any situation. Knowing the basic fundamentals of photographic theory you will lose your fear of the multitude of options offered by the current cameras to focus on the scene you want to capture.
What's included in this course?
You will begin to know a little better the work of Jesús G. Pastor and his travels around the world (from Bosnia to Africa through the Asian continent) and the authors who have most influenced him in his career.
Then you will go into the history of the camera, its varieties and the types of lenses that are on the market. You will also discover the three basic parameters of photography, whose domain will allow you to make a great qualitative leap in your images: the ISO, the diaphragm and the shutter speed.
Next, you will know how and for what purpose to compensate the exposure of your photographs, how to adjust the color temperature and better understand the histogram tool. Later Pastor will talk about the focus, the types of files (RAW and JPG) and the use of the flash.
After the theory, you will practice in the street photographing daily moments under different lighting conditions, managing to consolidate your knowledge and acquiring ease when using the options of your camera in manual mode.
WHAT IS THE FINAL PROJECT OF THE COURSE?
At the end of the course you will create a photographic report practicing all the parameters learned. The theme will be free so let fly all your creativity in the photographic genre that you like most: portrait, photojournalism, advertising photography, architectural photography ...

Journalist of formation and always linked to the social assistance, the way of Jesus G. Pastor was taking it little by little towards the image. An inveterate traveler, he spent two uninterrupted years in Asia plus a month or more in Lebanon, Syria, Mexico, Cuba, and the Balkans (two years living in the former Yugoslavia). It was in the trips where Jesus developed his photographic style.
Currently, he is a professor in the Higher Degree in Image and Sound FP. He has taught corporate communication workshops for Amnesty International and travel photography, author photography and digital retouching (especially Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw).
He has published in the national press (La Vanguardia, Público, Metro, Avui, Interviu, Human Journalism, Huffington Post) and international (Travel Africa Magazine, Sunday Times, Corbis, Demotix, UNHCR), worked for companies and NGOs, winning prizes for his I work in a landfill in Phnom Phen.
