“Sketches Using the references we'll design some small sketches for our future illustration. To do so, I'll use a 2B pencil. You can use a HB or a 5B, it depends on your personal preferences. I have some photos, some sketches from my sketch book, and this reference on kimonos, from the book. I'll do small sketches to get a better idea of the composition. I'll draw a frame. What I often find useful is working on the composition in triangles. It basically means positioning elements in a triangle. That way I create balance or I can provide breathing space.
