Learn to customize textile pieces with free embroidery techniques
Free embroidery is an approach to this art where everything goes. Without rules or limits, you can experiment with all kinds of textile fibers to give life to a unique accessory, adding color and texture with the application of basic points. Josefina Allendes - plastic artist - is passionate about crafts and more specifically for textile art, and a faithful practitioner of free embroidery for different brands in the world, including her Wild Spirit children's clothing brand.
In this course, you will learn to intervene accessories with materials that you have around you using different free embroidery techniques. You will integrate all kinds of material in the objects you choose to give them a second use enjoying each stitch.
What's included in this course?
You will know the work of Josefina and her professional career as a plastic artist in the world of crafts and textile art. In addition, you will see its main influences and elements of nature that serve as inspiration.
You will start by looking at the materials that you can apply to your embroidery to take advantage of everything you have around and give it a second chance. You will see why Josefina chose the vegetable fiber over other types of fabric and you will choose the vegetable or textile accessory that you want to embroider.
Then you will know all the tools you will need to complete the course project. Thus, you will see the different types of needles with pointed, sewing and embroidery, embroidery and crochet threads, ribbons, pearl threads, wool, scissors and the accessory that you will embroider.
Josefina will explain the basic embroidery points and give you professional advice so you can easily master them. First you will learn the French knot, long and short stitches with different textures and movements, bangs point, how to put firm mostacillas one by one and, finally, you will learn to add any material to your piece, to integrate them and combine them with total freedom.
Finally, you will apply everything learned to work the objects to intervene without rules or limits, giving free rein to your imagination with the sole objective of enjoying the process and creating spectacular pieces.
What is this course project?
You will embroider a wallet and earrings made of vegetable fiber or any other textile material that you want to intervene. The idea is to recycle something that you no longer use and give a second life or value to that object with embroidery.
Who is it aimed at?
To all kinds of people who enjoy handicrafts and are interested in learning from scratch or delving into other techniques to embroider differently.
You do not need to have previous knowledge, since you will enjoy learning simple points from Josefina's hand, applying them in a very entertaining and different way, but if you know more embroidery points, even better!
You will need basic embroidery materials that Josefina will detail in one of the lessons.

Josefina Allendes is a plastic artist specialized in crafts and textile art. Since childhood, instead of playing "dolls", he made them clothes, and always his gifts were made with his own hands. True to his passion, he continued his career in sculpture and embroidery, and more than 6 years ago he created a children's clothing and shoes brand where everything is 100% handmade, called Wild Spirit.
Currently she is dedicated to what she calls "free embroidery" and performs orders for decorators, different international brands, artistic exhibitions and courses to teach her free and creative technology in Miami (USA), Lima (Peru), Santiago de Chile (Chile) and Buenos Aires (Argentina).
