About the final project for: Guided Course: Design the typographic composition of a magazine

Guided Course: Design the typographic composition of a magazine

“It's time to put what you've learned in the course into practice. This project is designed for you to explore typography at different levels—from minute detail to complete composition—and develop a magazine with its own identity. The most important thing is to allow yourself to experiment: test font combinations, play with hierarchies, and find solutions that express the essence of your project. 1. Impactful typographic cover Create a magazine cover using only typography. Explore contrasts, hierarchies, and font combinations to convey the publication's personality. Example project: A cultural magazine cover with expressive typography in a large format, highlighting the title and subtitle. 2. Editorial Duo Develop a two-page layout that combines main text, subheadings, and notes, balancing readability and style. Work on margins, grids, and visual rhythm. Example project: An interview with a prominent title, serif body text, and sans serif elements to create contrast. 3. The micro: typography in detail Focus on refining a single page, adjusting line spacing, alignment, and the relationship between titles, paragraphs, and footnotes. Example project: An essay page with elegant serif typography, carefully considering spacing for comfortable reading. 4. The macro: typographic system Define a style system for the entire magazine, establishing rules for primary and secondary fonts, hierarchies, alignments, and grids. Example project: A visual guide showing how titles, subtitles, paragraphs, and highlights are repeated throughout the publication. 5. Experimental typographic page Create a free-form page, using typography as the graphic element. The goal is not functionality, but expressiveness. Example project: An art magazine page where words are transformed into shapes or visual structures that interact with the content. Typography is much more than just letters: it's rhythm, voice, and visual identity. Every decision you make in this project will help tell your magazine's story. Dare to be bold and discover how typographic design can transform words into a visual experience. Share your process and get inspired by the community's creations!”
