    FAQs

You’ll learn how to create mood boards to inspire your designs, select fibers and materials, master basic and advanced macramé knots, calculate materials and measurements, create sketches and technical sheets, and finish handmade bags with professional-quality details.

The course is aimed at those with basic knowledge of macramé or handmade design, making it ideal for intermediate learners. Prior experience with basic knots and design concepts is recommended.

You’ll need cotton or jute cords, wooden handles, scissors, multipurpose glue, pencils, sketch paper, inspirational images for the mood board, and a measuring tape. The course specifies recommended types and quantities.

A mood board is a visual inspiration board that brings together images, colors, textures, and materials to define the concept and aesthetic direction of a handmade bag before starting its design and creation.

The main knots are the lark’s head knot, festoon knot, and square knot. Each creates different patterns and structures essential for forming geometric shapes and connecting modules in the bag.

Thick 5mm cotton is recommended for its balance of firmness and flexibility. Thick jute is avoided because it’s stiff and rough. The choice depends on the desired finish, texture, and movement of the bag.

You’ll learn to wrap wooden handles with thread using simple knots and multipurpose glue, ensuring a smooth, durable finish. The course covers how to adjust tension and trim excess thread.
