About the final project for: Guided Course: Remote Design Sprints for Digital Prototyping

Remote Design Sprints: Innovating for Success

Final Project: Run and Reflect on Your Own Remote Design Sprint Now it’s your turn to put theory into action by leading your own remote design sprint. This project is your opportunity to explore a real-world problem, prototype a digital solution, and test it — all in just five days. You’ll take the lead in defining goals, coordinating remote collaboration, and building something concrete from big ideas. Not sure where to start? We’ve outlined five project paths to inspire you. Choose one that fits your interest, or adapt it to your team and context. The important part is following the sprint mindset: focused, fast, and fearless. 1. Improve a Daily Habit with a Simple App Identify a small, everyday challenge (like staying hydrated, waking up early, or focusing) and design an app that helps users improve that behavior. Example project: A minimalist focus timer app that uses soundscapes, micro-rewards, and personalized break intervals. 2. Redesign a Broken Experience Pick an app or service you use regularly but find frustrating. Redesign one specific interaction through your sprint. Example project: Reworking the checkout flow of a food delivery app to reduce friction and increase tip options. 3. Create a Tool for Remote Teams Design something that solves a problem you’ve personally experienced while working remotely — communication, feedback, or scheduling. Example project: A browser-based “meeting decompression” tool that helps teams reflect after calls with one-click mood tracking and notes. 4. Help a Local Business Go Digital Choose a real or hypothetical small business (a florist, a bakery, a ceramics studio) and design a digital product that helps them serve their customers remotely. Example project: A click-and-collect order prototype for a local bakery with same-day time slot booking. 5. Support Mental Health or Wellness Design a lightweight, digital experience that supports user well-being in a specific way — breathing exercises, gratitude journaling, stress tracking, etc. Example project: A mood journal with visual entries, weekly summaries, and personalized affirmations based on trends. Once your sprint is complete, share your prototype and your process in the forum. Include screenshots of your mapping session, sketches, your voting rationale, prototype walkthrough, and key takeaways from testing. Tell us what surprised you, what your users revealed, and how you adapted your ideas. Your sprint story will inspire others to move quickly, think deeply, and collaborate remotely — just like real-world product teams do.”
