Guided Project: Design and Animate Posters
“Now it's your turn to put everything you've learned into practice. This project is designed to help you apply the course concepts in a creative and personal way. If you're not sure where to begin, don’t worry—we’ve got some ideas to get you started and let your imagination flow. The important thing is to explore, experiment, and enjoy the process while developing your own unique proposal. Share your results with the community and get inspired by others! 1. Chromatic Poster: Express an Emotion Through Color Design a poster where color is the main tool to convey a specific emotion (joy, nostalgia, energy, calm...). Experiment with simultaneous contrast, saturation, and color temperature to visually express feelings without relying on text. Project example: A joy-themed poster using warm colors, organic shapes, and an open composition. 2. Typographic Poster in Motion Create a short animation where typography takes center stage. Start with a powerful phrase and bring it to life with subtle motion that reinforces the message. Learn to integrate text, color, and rhythm into a dynamic piece suitable for digital screens. Project example: A quote about creativity animated with smooth transitions and expressive color shifts. 3. Visual Triptych: A Series of Three Connected Posters Develop a series of three posters that work together as a visual triptych. Each one should explore a variation in color, composition, or typography while maintaining overall aesthetic unity. This project allows for experimentation with color harmonies and compositional rhythm. Project example: Three posters representing the seasons, each with a distinct color palette and typographic style. 4. Reimagine a Classic Poster with Your Color Vision Choose an iconic poster (film, concert, propaganda, etc.) and reinterpret it using new color combinations and your own visual structure. Reflect on how changing the color scheme transforms the perception of the message. Project example: A new version of the “Metropolis” poster using complementary colors and modern typography. 5. Animated Mini-Campaign for Social Media Design and animate a series of two or three mini posters tailored for platforms like Instagram or TikTok. Play with motion, color, and short text to quickly capture attention. Project example: An animated motivational quote campaign with moving abstract backgrounds and energizing color transitions. ”
