About the final project for: Creative Floral Design Specialization
Specialization in Decoration and Creative Floral Design
“Final Project: Create a Personalized Floral Bouquet with Its Own Identity Objective The objective of this final project is to apply everything you've learned in the specialization to create an original floral bouquet that expresses your personal style. You'll integrate concepts of color, shape, texture, sustainability, and composition, designing from the initial idea to the final technical execution. This project will be an opportunity to demonstrate your mastery of floral techniques and your aesthetic sensibility as a floral designer. Project Description You will create a unique and personal floral bouquet, using fresh, dried, or preserved flowers, that reflects your artistic vision and the knowledge acquired during your specialization. Your bouquet should have a clear concept, a harmonious composition, and careful technical execution. You'll be able to draw inspiration from a feeling, a story, a space, a season, or any other element that sparks your creativity. Sustainability will also be a key value: you can incorporate eco-friendly techniques and materials learned in the sustainable floral design module. Project Phases 1. Inspiration and Concept • Think about what you want to express with your bouquet: an emotion, a memory, a season of the year, a person… • Create a mood board with images, colors, and textures that inspire you. • Write a brief conceptual description that guides your entire creative process. 2. Selection of Materials • Choose between fresh, dried, or preserved flowers, considering what you learned in the modules. • Think about the harmony between color, shape, texture and sustainability. • Include complementary elements (branches, foliage, natural fibers if you wish). 3. Design and Composition • Draw a preliminary sketch or outline of your bouquet. • Define the general structure (spiral, cascade, asymmetric, domed, etc.). • Consider the visual balance and narrative of the bouquet. 4. Technical Execution • Prepare stems and materials according to professional techniques seen in class. • Assemble the bouquet taking care of the technique and clean finishes. • Make sure the design is consistent with the initial concept. 5. Finishing Touches and Styling • Add details that reinforce the personality of the bouquet (ribbons, sustainable wrapping, bases or decorative elements). • Make adjustments if necessary to improve proportions or balance. 6. Professional Presentation • Take a photo shoot of your bouquet: use good lighting, a neutral or contextual background, and different angles. • Write a short text to accompany your submission: What was the inspiration? What techniques did you use? What materials did you choose and why? Deliverables • A finished floral bouquet that reflects your style and creativity. • At least 3 photos from different angles showing the composition and details. • A written description of the process: inspiration, concept, selection of materials and techniques applied. Tips for Success 1. Think like a visual storyteller: Every flower should have a purpose. 2. Take care of the finishes: Technique is as important as creativity. 3. Explore your style: This is the time to leave your personal stamp. 4. Check proportions: Look at your bouquet from several angles before deciding it's finished. 5. Enjoy the process: It's your moment of artistic expression, have fun designing with flowers! Each bouquet you create is not only an aesthetic composition, but a story that comes to life through color, texture, and form. This project is not only a showcase of your technical skills, but also an intimate expression of your sensitivity and personal style. Trust your eye, what you've learned, and what you feel when designing. Because floral art is not just about arranging flowers, but about transforming emotions into tangible beauty.”
