Laura Baeza
A course by Laura Baeza
Laura Baeza is a writer passionate about the small stories that reside in everyday details. With a career that includes the publication of several books of short stories and a novel, her work has crossed borders inside and outside of Mexico. Her literary career is not only limited to writing, but also includes her experience as a freelance editorial assistant, a teacher of literature and music for children, and a workshop facilitator at institutions such as the Museo Jumex. Her work has been recognized with literary awards in Mexico and has been a finalist in prestigious novel competitions.
As a multidisciplinary artist, Laura explores the influence of music, film and television in her creative process. Since her childhood, music has been a constant in her life, which is reflected in her ability to detect rhythms and harmonies in everyday life. Her approach is centered on observation and hearing, techniques that she uses to trigger the imagination and create visual and sound narratives. Committed to art as a practical and aesthetic tool, Laura seeks to convey to her readers and students the importance of curiosity and experimentation in writing.
