About the final project for: Design of Packaging for Discs

Design of a package for the music industry

“Hello! How are you? We have reached the end of the course, I hope you have enjoyed it as much as we did it. We hope you have a passion for packaging and its communication possibilities, remember that with packaging and prototypes it is important to always try to do as many tests as necessary. Do not forget that for your project you can design a CD or vinyl package with the modules that we leave you in unit 3, you can also start from the module size that you want to develop your packaging, you are free to choose the artist and the project you want to work on: you can redesign one of your favorite albums or create a fictitious musical project that brings together two artists that you admire a lot (better if they are from different musical genres, because there is an additional visual challenge), or if it's a job for a band (Your band?) that needs a package, so much the better. We also suggest that you try developments that combine offset printing (digital or with CTP) with laser cutting or screen printing with printing dies, stamps, direct intervention on packaging, etc. In our project we decided to make a very complicated die to understand the logic and can do things as complex or if the project requires simpler and less expensive dies. Remember to try to avoid unnecessary pyrotechnics that do not add communicative elements to the packaging and whose sole purpose is to dazzle the user, without further ado. We would love to see your work and how you have inspired in the course, to show us and tell how it was, how you felt and that you can raise any concerns that may arise after the course. The idea is that together we can comment and create a community around the design of musical packaging. Remember that in the forum the discussions are open for us to continue to talk in an extensive way about this and other topics that you are passionate about. Finally we wanted to tell you that we have learned a lot doing this course and we hope that you will too. Follow us on our social networks so you can see how we take the project to reality and how it was finished. We send you a hug very, very strong, good vibes and let the music accompany the best moments of your life. ”

“We have reached the end of our course. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We want to recount what we did. We begin by telling you who we are and what our influences are, we show you our referents and we develop the research and the concept. Later we elaborate some sketches and we develop a presentation for the client. We develop our packaging on the computer and through a module exercise we developed our first prototype. Luisa explained how to polish the sketch and give it the final finishes. Once the illustration is finished, We adapt the packaging to the final art. Finally, we prepa...”
