I am new to Botanical drawing, therefore took this course and found it amazing! This beginner course has helped me to learn step by step about creating my own personal projects later. Penny Brown is a great teacher indeed. She has sound knowledge to share. I also like it that she give short feedback in the comments as well.
However, I think the videos(in some places) could have been improved by zooming in clearly what the illustrator was doing. I couldn't see few step clearly.

Wonderful introduction to using pencils if someone hasn't done that before yet. I do wish that the zoom and contrast on the work was better on the videos as it felt difficult at times to properly see what Penny was doing. I had hoped for a little more context on botanical drawing itself.
Her practice gradually evolved toward botanical art and natural history, a field in which she has gained international recognition. After graduating with distinction from the Society of Botanical Artists in 2011, she became a full member and has since exhibited regularly in London, Frankfurt, and beyond. Penny has worked with major publishers including DK, Reader’s Digest, and Search Press, with her artwork appearing in nearly 100 books. Working in watercolor, graphite, and mixed-media collage, she continues to balance illustration and botanical painting, and is also the author of Botanical Drawing, published in 2018.
