Before completing his graphic design degree at UBA, Christian Montenegro trained in comics illustration under Alberto Breccia. He has authored books like The Creation: Pictures from the Book of Genesis and New Order and illustrated others, including a Spanish-language version of Kafka's First Sorrow and Didi Grau's Peleonas Mentirosas y Haraganas, Cuatro Gatos Negros Flacos, and Cocorococó. Another recent project is 200 Años de Monstruos y Maravillas Argentinas, an anthology of historical texts by Gabo Ferro.
His work has been recognized worldwide and is featured in various creativity and illustration annuals. He also won the 2009 Swatch Illustrative Award in Berlin and has recently been recognized by ALIJA.
