“ Pitching A lot of popular music is not based around the classical major and minor scales that you might be used to if you have been singing classical music or practising an instrument that's used in an orchestra. Much popular music is based around what are known as pentatonic scales which are five-note scales that are part of the major or minor scale, but they miss notes out.
