Start by familiarizing yourself with Pablo Lobato's work and his sources of inspiration, from illustrators to painters to musicians, as well as film, television, and above all, his observations of the world around him.

Discover various techniques and tricks to draw freely and assemble your own collection of sketches that you can later reference for inspiration.

Next, find out how to create illustrations using simple lines. Explore everything from straight and curved lines to continuous and dotted lines, and see how varying the line type and weight can transform your initial drawing.

Then put together an illustration using basic figures, first circles and then rectangles. Combine these two to achieve more complex shapes, using tools such as the Pathfinder to add or remove different elements.

Build up your illustrations in black and white, later adding texture, transparency, grayscale, and finally color. Take your creation one step further by experimenting with the results and creating several variations.

Pablo wraps up the course by revealing his work method, which involves playing three roles: that of a detective who gathers information, an artist who sketches out some ideas, and an executive who polishes up the illustrations to achieve professional results.
