What's included in this course?

Begin by getting to know Lucia Emanuela Curzi, illustrator, art director, and your teacher for the course. She tells you about her creative journey into fashion illustration and how moving to a new city changed her career, along with the influences that inspire her work.

Look at the materials needed for the course and the different types of media you can use to develop your own style. Examine key features like the eyes, mouth, hair, and face and learn to depict them is a stylized fashion with simple lines before doing a set of exercises with India ink to find your signature mark.

Next, Lucia Emanuela shows you how to break down the human figure into basic shapes and use them to create your composition. She also demonstrates how to build a pattern collection in your sketchbook.

Now it's time to work on your illustration! Pick a current trend and compile references into a mood board. Draw several pencil sketches to determine the angle and pose that best favors the featured outfit. Then bring your illustration to life with mixed media. Start with watercolors to highlight certain aspects, incorporate extra elements with collage, and layer in the finishing touches using pastels and black ink.

Finally, perfect your piece by adding accents in white acrylic. Lucia Emanuela wraps up the course by discussing different applications for fashion drawing so you can start making designs for publishing houses, advertising agencies, events, and other businesses.
