I love Vicki's vibrant, painterly style. Never used gouache before, so if you're used to other mediums like me, obviously needs a little practice getting used to. Vicki explains it all very clearly and I would recommend the course to anyone interested in her style and learning to use gouache.
What I took mostly from this course is the more painterly, loose rendering that Vicki shows, which is what really drew me to the course.

I learnt quite a bit from doing this course. The subject matter for the painting was quite difficult for a beginner painting (the plastic plate) but it was clearly presented and informative. I would recommend taking this course!

Great course! Vicki is a really good instructor! I would advise anyone to take this course even if you don't use gouache! I think as an acrylic or an oil painter one would still learn a lot from this course regardless which medium is used.

Before taking this course, I had never painted a gouache with a flat brush. This approach completely changes the way strokes are presented on the piece and light shines much more vibrantly. Having said that I think this is not a beginner's course but an intermediate one, as the mastery Vicki shows when doing washes is outstanding. It is definitely a new way to look at the medium.

before I even took this course I have purchased cards she designed from Trader Joe's where I often go to buy cards I absolutely love this artist teacher and her clear and well paced presentation.
I learned so many new techniques and feel like I am sitting next to her in person as she carefully instructs.
I hope to really practice what she teaches so I can improve my painting skills and feel confident this will be the case.
