About the final project for: Creative Architectural Design & Modeling in Revit

Creative Architectural Design & Modeling in Revit

“Congratulations! You have reached the end of this course. Thank you so much for taking part; it has been a great experience sharing our creative process with you! We hope you learned something new and you're now able to apply and adapt the techniques you have learned to your own work. Now it's time to complete and share your project. Make sure to keep track of your progress with different pictures of each step. It would be great if you could also explain the choices you have made along the way and tell us if you have any doubts. This will help us guide you better if you need advice. We encourage you to be creative and test as much as you can. This is the best way to learn! Each building and design is different and will teach you different things. Here are a few important tips for you to consider while working on your project: • Before modeling, make sure you have your ideas sketched, then analyze all the possible modeling approaches. Don't design directly in Revit!

• Don't overdo it—choose the simplest and most efficient way in accordance with what you need to do. If you are doing a simple test, it's not necessary to model in a very detailed way. • When selecting the modeling approach, always keep in mind the flexibility of the model. It could take longer at the beginning, but it will save you a lot of time in the future. • Use the Design Options tool to test several options on the same file over the same base.
• Name correctly all the elements you create for the project (families, reference planes, groups, etc.). And use Groups, as it will save you a lot of time when editing. • Remember that loadable families are for different projects or for repetitive elements. Use in-place families if you need to use them only once for concept modeling. • Don't forget to create families wisely. Make sure to pay attention when creating parameters to assign them to an instance or a type to control the family. • Apply materials to the elements of your design to help you show your conceptual ideas better, and use Enscape for quick visualization and testing of materials.
Share your work in the forum. You can do so by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result and the steps that have led you to it. We are excited to see your designs! Domestika has a great community, where we are all looking to grow and learn. So share your process, ideas, doubts, and every step of your project. We will be around as often as we can to answer any questions you might have and give you some feedback. Enjoy the process! ”
