“In this lesson, we'll make and measure the gauge swatch, and I will explain about hooks that you will need for the project. I cannot stress enough how important the gauge swatch is. If you don't get the gauge, the gauge will get you. The gauge swatch is that little square that you make to see what hook size you should use to achieve the same fabric and measurements as in the pattern. If you don't get the gauge, there's a big chance the sweater just won't fit you. And think about all the time you will put into making the sweater. All the material costs.
