“ Influences In this lesson, we'll be looking at some of my major influences and some of the artists that have really transformed the way I work and inspired me. The first artist I'm going to talk about is Piranesi. Piranesi was an absolute master draughtsman and he worked in etchings. As you can see, a lot of his work is very detailed black and white drawings. One thing that really inspires me about Piranesi's work is his use of imagination. Luke Adam Hawker is a professional artist based in Surrey, England. Growing up, he was always drawing and went on to study interior architecture at Nottingham Trent University. After graduating, he began his design career in London, alongside selling limited edition prints at markets and galleries.
In 2015, he left his job as an interior designer to focus on his own work and has since collaborated with clients including Annabels London, Soho House, Article 25, and Penhaligons Fragrance. Luke’s drawing of Big Ben was selected to be a permanent part of the Parliamentary Art Collection, and he also published a graphic novel, Together, which sold over 130K copies worldwide and became a Sunday Times Best Seller.
